Watch out for Scammers and Phishers

Proceed with caution when providing your personal information Online. Be skeptical of all Web sites that require you to enter your personal financial information. We have your information on file and will NEVER request your account numbers or card data over the Internet.

1st National Bank will never contact you for account or card information in 1st Online Banking, via email or over the phone. We recommend you protect your identity and good name in the following ways:

  • Never provide account numbers or Personal Identification Numbers via email.
  • Do not complete pop-up's on your screen requesting your personal financial information or account numbers.
  • Do not provide your Social Security Number unless absolutely necessary.
  • Do not provide your personal financial information or account number to someone who has called you. If someone calls you requesting this information, ask for a phone number and call the person back. If it is an institution you currently do business with, you should recognize the phone number.
  • Frequently change passwords and make sure your security solutions are up-to-date. Create passwords with a combination of numbers, letters and characters.
  • Make sure your anti-virus / anti-malware software is up-to-date. If a request is not relevant to the transaction you are performing, do not complete it.
  • Shred documents containing personal financial information prior to discarding.
  • Know your billing and statement cycles. Contact the company's customer service department if you stop receiving your regular bill or statement.
  • Use Electronic Banking Services such as eStatements, Online Banking and Bill Payment to reduce the opportunity for mail to be stolen from your garbage or mailbox.

Trust yourself. If any situation makes you feel uncomfortable, please contact our Electronic Banking Team at 1-888-281-2265 and we will answer your questions and help you avoid any situation that could compromise your identity.

Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to protect you. Our multi-factor authentication requires you to enter your username, password and verify your picture selection. In addition, answers to security questions are required in order to change your password.
